Bathroom Houthavenkade
Design and renovation of a warm, cozy and tropical bathroom with a mix of vintage, ethnic and natural elements.
Nature is mainly shown with the use of materials. The wavy glass tiles are reminiscent of water. The grainy floor tiles give a sandy feel and only wood is used for the hand made accessories. The bathroom is anything but cold and tight due to hand-formed green tiles and coarse plastered walls.
The custom designed sink is from Morocco along with the green tiles. The wooden accessories and vintage inspired mirror are also custom made. We turned a vintage teak wooden cabinet into a sink cabinet and found a second hand lamp from Marktplaats for a vintage touch. Optimally using the space with built in shelves above the toilet and allowing light in the shower area with the glass block wall.
